CSN Stores has offered up products for review throughout the blogosphere. People always seem to be very happy with their products and find their website very easy and convenient to navigate. They make it easy to stock up on kitchen supplies like le creuset, and in my case Extra tall bar stools. We just finished our basement and I'm looking for some new ones to put in our kitchen area! They have products that are within all different price ranges meaning that there really is something for everyone.

CSN has become my go to site! I will soon be reviewing one of their great products, but in the meantime be sure to check out their site. I promise you will be surprised with all that they offer!

CSN Review

A very nice lady from CSN Stores contacted me last week about doing a review for a CSN product. Me? Um - ok! In case you aren't familiar with their site, CSN Stores has over 200 online stores where you can find everything from dinnerware to dog beds to sofas and suitcases! Seriously - it's crazy. Like, borderline holy-cow-this-place-has-everything-and-it's-overwhelming(ly awesome).

Oh, and did I mention that I get to CHOOSE what I want to review? Yeah, life on School House Circle is pretty good these days!

So... what should I choose? I've been drooling over this pie dish! Oh, how I love to make things in the kitchen! You must check out all the fun things in the DINERWARE section!!!!

Have any of you checked out THIS site before? Oh my goodness!!! I have subscribed to this service for a little over 3 years now and I heart it SOOOO much! What is it you might ask? This awesome girl goes through all the grocery ads and tells you when and what to buy when cost are at their all time lowest price. She even puts together an awesome meal plan for the week so you know what to make your family with the food you bought for the week! How awesome is that?!! Because of her I feel so much better about my food storage. The best news is this is NOT just a "Utah" thing! She is helping women save all over the west coast. You have to check it out. She has come to our ward before and taught the ladies some amazing tricks to saving money. I LOVE her recipes too!

Wow, is all I have to say! What a great show even with all the snow coming down on Saturday. My poor little pregnant feet were killing. I loved this home that we were in, sooooo beautiful. I also loved the Christmas candles that were burning, the Christmas music that was playing through out the house and the snow was a nice touch to this awesome Christmas show!!! Thank you to EVERYONE that participated and helped make this a huge success. I almost got talked into doing another show before Christmas, but I think I better just relax and enjoy my little one before there is no more just her and I....I'm kinda sad about that. May God bless you all and have a wonderful holiday season! I'll see you again in the Spring!

Luggage tag anyone? What a brilliant idea! I hate it when I'm at the airport looking at 100's of black luggage bags, trying to figure out which one is mine. OK, these have got to be the BEST caramels I've ever had. I'm not just saying that either. We've been HEARD! The following is directly from the CPSC website...just today!
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously (2-0) to issue a one year stay of enforcement for certain testing and certification requirements for manufacturers and importers of regulated products, including products intended for children 12 years old and younger. These requirements are part of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), which added certification and testing requirements for all products subject to CPSC standards or bans.
Significant to makers of children’s products, the vote by the Commission provides limited relief from the testing and certification requirements which go into effect on February 10, 2009 for new total lead content limits (600 ppm), phthalates limits for certain products (1000 ppm), and mandatory toy standards, among other things. Manufacturers and importers – large and small – of children’s products will not need to test or certify to these new requirements, but will need to meet the lead and phthalates limits, mandatory toy standards and other requirements.
The decision by the Commission gives the staff more time to finalize four proposed rules which could relieve certain materials and products from lead testing and to issue more guidance on when testing is required and how it is to be conducted.
The stay will remain in effect until February 10, 2010, at which time a Commission vote will be taken to terminate the stay.
The stay does not apply to:
Four requirements for third-party testing and certification of certain children’s products subject to:
The ban on lead in paint and other surface coatings effective for products made after December 21, 2008;
The standards for full-size and non full-size cribs and pacifiers effective for products made after January 20, 2009;
The ban on small parts effective for products made after February 15, 2009; and
The limits on lead content of metal components of children’s jewelry effective for products made after March 23, 2009.
Certification requirements applicable to ATV’s manufactured after April 13, 2009.
Pre-CPSIA testing and certification requirements, including for: automatic residential garage door openers, bike helmets, candles with metal core wicks, lawnmowers, lighters, mattresses, and swimming pool slides; and
Pool drain cover requirements of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act.
The stay of enforcement provides some temporary, limited relief to the crafters, children’s garment manufacturers and toy makers who had been subject to the testing and certification required under the CPSIA. These businesses will not need to issue certificates based on testing of their products until additional decisions are issued by the Commission. However, all businesses, including, but not limited to, handmade toy and apparel makers, crafters and home-based small businesses, must still be sure that their products conform to all safety standards and similar requirements, including the lead and phthalates provisions of the CPSIA.
Handmade garment makers are cautioned to know whether the zippers, buttons and other fasteners they are using contain lead. Likewise, handmade toy manufacturers need to know whether their products, if using plastic or soft flexible vinyl, contain phthalates.
The stay of enforcement on testing and certification does not address thrift and second hand stores and small retailers because they are not required to test and certify products under the CPSIA. The products they sell, including those in inventory on February 10, 2009, must not contain more than 600 ppm lead in any accessible part. The Commission is aware that it is difficult to know whether a product meets the lead standard without testing and has issued guidance for these companies that can be found on our web site.
The Commission trusts that State Attorneys General will respect the Commission's judgment that it is necessary to stay certain testing and certification requirements and will focus their own enforcement efforts on other provisions of the law, e.g. the sale of recalled products.

I wrote to Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah regarding the CPSIA Law and my (and lots of others') concerns about the impact on small business and handcrafted products. I usually couldn't disagree more with Senator Hatch, but his thoughtful response (not a form letter - yay!) gave me a ray of hope. I've reprinted his letter to me in its entirely below.Dear Ms. Robison:Thank you for contacting me about the regulations resulting from the CPSIA and potential impact on producers and sellers of homemade or handcrafted products.As you probably know, Congress approved and the President signed the CPSIA into law in August 2008. The law is intended to remove harmful products from the consumer marketplace, and I supported the legislation.Often, after Congress enacts new laws, the relevant executive branch agencies issue regulations to provide guidance and technical requirements necessary to keep and enforce the underlying laws. Unfortunately, especially in the case of something as broad as consumer products, it is sometimes the case that the laws or regulations have unintended consequences. The CPSIA was not intended to harm the kinds of small businesses for which you are concerned. It is apparent, however, that the regulations may need to be altered to make exemptions for certain categories of products and businesses.I know that many people in Utah may be affected by the new regulations promulgated by the CPSIA. I will work with my colleagues in the Seante to try to rectify the problem. The 110th Congress is now at its conclusion, but there should be opportunities to work on this issue beginning in 2009.Thank you again for writing and sharing your concerns. I am so excited for this fresh new year! I ended 08 with several successful Boutiques and I made sooooo many FABULOUS friends! I can't wait to do business with you all this year. I am almost ready to announce my 2009 Boutique locations! I will be doing 5 shows this year. Lots of work, but SO worth it. With that, I wanted to share with you a future vendor that I'm going to be having. She makes the cutest stuff ever. I bought a few pillowcase dresses from her and I can't wait for my little Whitney to wear them this summer! Check out Vintage Fern! She's having a super cool giveaway too.
